We are convinced that sustainable action is more integral than ever to organizations capable of shaping the future and to our society as a whole. That's why we address the issue comprehensively by creating transparency and continuously improving ourselves.
Environmental Management at Hirschen – All German locations EMAS validated!
It’s official: After starting with our locations in Berlin and Stuttgart in 2021, we’ve stepped up in 2022 and also had the environmental management system of our Hamburg, Cologne, and Munich locations validated according to the European EMAS standard and certified according to the international ISO 14001.
EMAS stands for Eco Management and Audit Scheme and is, so to speak, the European gold standard in environmental management. This means we have implemented a comprehensive environmental management system to continuously and in detail track our impacts on the environment. We not only consider our emissions that influence global climate conditions but also assess the impact of our actions on aspects such as water consumption, biodiversity endangerment, and waste disposal issues. Based on this, we regularly set goals on how to improve our environmental impacts.
Details of our environmental management, the goals we set for reducing our environmental impacts, and the measures we take for that are described in our EMAS Environmental Statement 2022: Here
Sustainability Report Published
Our sustainable future requires not only commitment to climate and environmental protection but also in the areas of social sustainability and governance. And it requires transparency and dialogue with all stakeholders. Therefore, at Zum goldenen Hirschen, we recently published our first comprehensive sustainability report for the year 2021 according to the criteria of the German Sustainability Code (DNK).
In the report, we explain what our holistic sustainability strategy encompasses in various dimensions and how we act accordingly. From our role as a secure employer and reliable business partner to our agency as a space for individual development, and our commitment to the community and climate and environmental protection.
The report is available here.
